C4T #3

For my C4T, I am still blogging with Raisdana Jabiz @ his blog, Intrepid Teacher. Jabiz have not blogged about anything recently so I went back in time to his post titled, "readers." I thought that I had already commented on this post but for some reason, I could not find it. I actually wrote a summary about it in my first C4T.So, here is the summary of the comment that I posted.  I told Jabiz that I  wish I had the tenacity that he had  when it came to reading. I told him that I  really thought that I was an avid reader until I read his post.I also said that I have always heard that reading makes one a better writer. However, I read strictly for pleasure. I try my best to stay away from the hard and boring stuff. I told Jabiz that  I can’t really answer any of his questions because I am not a teacher yet. I was really looking for answers on how can I get my students to not only read but to enjoy reading as well, especially if the book is long and boring. I commented that he did give me an idea when he told us about how the student teacher captured his attention when he brought in a bag of books and said not to tell anyone what they were about to read. I think that I will be able to hook the students by telling them that they are apart of a private reading club. I think that this will allow the students to be engaged while expounding on the different books that they are assigned to read. I thanked Jabiz for his blog and told him that it was very helpful.
