Krissy Venosdale and Suguta Mitra

Venodale and Mitra are two of the most inspiring individual that I have ever heard. Venodale nailed it with her book," Venspired." Just  think about it for a minute, what would the world be like if no one was ever inspired. If we truly looked back over our lives, I bet that all of us had a teacher that inspired us. That teacher made the difference to us and now it is our turn to do good and make the difference in a child's life. I also agree with her when she said that there is value in not knowing everything. It seems like when you do find that information that was so difficult to find that you seem to appreciate it more. One thing about me is that I am not uncomfortable about being uncomfortable anymore. Maybe it's because I am forty one. I am sure that I wouldn't have been able to say that twenty years ago.  Although I wish I could have. When Venodale said ,"embrace the struggle," I thought for sure that someone had told her that I was in edm 310.

Mitra and his TED lecture on the School in the Clouds was not as far fetched as some would deem it to be. We have the world at our fingertips. Although it was amazing how those children taught themselves even though the material was not in their language. Learning has no boundaries is all that I can say about that. If adults can learn from children then children can also learn from other children.

What do I Want My Students To Know
I want my students to know that they can make a difference in this world.I want them to be able to read without being ashamed.I want my students to know that I am here for them. I want them to know that it's alright to make a mistake.
What Do I Want My Students To Be Able To Do
I want my students to be able to teach me the lesson. I want them to be able to write a book. I want them to learn from their mistakes.
What Will Be My Primary Way Of Teaching My Students What I Want Them To Know and Do
Hands on activities such as labs, role play and question and answer segments.
What Tools Will I Use In My Classroom
I will use e-readers, visuals aids such as pictures, posters and models of different subject matters. I will also use laptops, cellphones and smart boards.
What Role Will My Students Play In My Classroom
The student will be be the teacher at times. The student will be responsible for conducting himself in a respectful manner. The student will be expected to demonstrate what he has learned and ask question on what he does not understand.

The School of My Dreams

The school of my dreams would be built in the middle of an enormous farm. It would be complete with a fruit and vegetable garden as well as a pond stocked with all sorts of fish. I would hire a therapist to work with the special needs children. I think that the children would not only benefit from the horse therapy in a physical way but that they will be emotionally happy as well. The children will learn life skills in a fun and rewarding way while tending to the needs of the animals. The cafe will have only the food that is grown or caught on the farm with the exception of the animals. We will also plant our own fruit trees. The arts will play a major role in my school. I believe that children should be well rounded. In case I did not make it clear, this will be an elementary school. I think the earlier that children are introduced to the arts, the greater they will be at appreciating them.
